A burst of wintry chill this evening and the early hours tomorrow will affect the island as the cold snap will bring temperatures right down to zero on mountainous regions and hilly areas and four inland, with the possibility of light showers also forecast.
Winds will be light southwesterly to northwesterly, turning three to four in certain areas over slight seas. Temperatures at four inland, 7 on the southern and eastern coastal regions, 9 in the west and north and zero on the mountains and many other higher areas, including semi-mountainous, where frost is expected to form.
Light showers mainly in the west tomorrow with light to moderate winds. 17 degrees Celsius inland, 18 in coastal regions and seven on the mountains.
