The Akamas hosts many fine trails for the intrepid hiker. Some of the more popular ones originate from Aphrodite's Baths. The other day we paid a visit to experience one for ourselves. So join us as we follow a rocky trail and revisit an old friend.

Re: Aphrodite's Trail
Nice walk for people fit enough as obviously you are...
and very nice photos.
I must admit that I was only once on that trail, even when i lived in that area and funnily enough I was attacked by a huge mouflon then.
As I was car-mad in the mid-eighties and always tried to find out the limits of my 4x4 (Nissan Patrol 4,2l) I drove up a small track to the peak of the trail, (Moutti Tis Sotiras) where the beautiful view to the end of Akamas one can enjoy. In this times there were no any walkers though.

after ca 30 m walk I had that lovely view and was surprised how high I was actually driving....however it was not really dangerous except the large stones at the last bit of the track. Much more dangerous was when I drove several fire breakers high up in the mountains, but when you are younger you ignore sometimes the situation until it is too late...

Re: Aphrodite's Trail
Wifey and I "did" the trail in 1997 and were impressed by the views. One thing I did notice in your excellent compilation is that there were obviously some tracks, presumably suitable only for 4x4's, where none existed 25 years ago. It was a hard hike but we had our old Swiss walking boots.
