Post by Paul »

Please be advised the road surface at the main entrance has been relaid and there putting in double yellow line outside the hospital and side the roads.
I was down there this morning.

It has always been difficult parking there, and I suppose now it will be even worse. Even dropping a patient off can be a problem.

I some times have to go to both of these hospitals, it seems that parking at St Georges will be easier for me as I was unaware of their car park. But parking near the Blue Cross will be a problem if one can't park in the adjacent streets. So where else is there?

It was suggested to me that it may be a good idea to park in McDonald's. But that depends on your mobility

Yes, you'll need a certain amount of mobility as well as good luck to be-able to cross the very busy main road... seems incredible that the minor roads close-to the hospital with the addition of double yellow lines are no longer usable for parking for hospital patients, if there is no proper alternative.

I have been there today and although I did not go down every side road, but it seems to be mainly the corners and just a short stretch into each road (well needed). The longest stretch being behind where you an park nose in and where the doctors park

There's a few of plots of spare ground people use to park on behind the hospital within a couple of minutes walk.

The nearest plot to the hospital is the one I use if I can't park on the street

Thanks , Chris & Pam and Trev for your info.
Its good to know that there are in fact alternatives to street parking.
I haven't noticed them before when I've been there, but will look out for these spare plots next time!

If you approach via the streets at the back!!!! with the hospital on your right, there are plots a little further on, first on your left and then on your right. But there is still street Parking
