Blue disability badge
Blue disability badge
Does anyone happen to know where and how to apply for a Disability Parking badge? Thanks in advance.

Here is a link to an official website:
http://www.mlsi.gov.cy/mlsi/dsid/dsid.n ... enDocument
However, not sure how up to date the information is.
I have looked elsewhere and found different telephone numbers, so hopefully someone who has applied recently will be able to give more detailed information

The citizens centre will give you the form then it needs to go to your doctor for completion, I think I then sent the form to the address on it (prob Nicosia) with a photo, it came back pretty quick.
Be careful though - my mother’s carer parked in the mall last week and they managed to forget to display the badge, when they came back to the car there was a €300 fine stuck to the windscreen. The carer took the badge to the office and the ticket was cancelled, thank goodness! I appreciate that for once they are doing their job and protecting disabled spaces but as there are quite a few in that car park which mostly seem to be empty whenever I visit and people regularly park on the ‘road’ rather than in a space, causing an obstruction and I’ve never seen any with a ticket on, I can’t help thinking that maybe they’ve got their priorities a bit wrong this time.

Re: Blue disability badge
I believe you can get an application form from your GP, after all they will be the ones to endorse your disability

Be aware that for the GP , completing the form is a non-Gesy piece of work, and comes into the Private category.
Cost- payable to the doctor was €35 when I last applied

It is a small price to pay though if you need a blue badge to park near a store entrance
