Felt quite a big one. Dog hid behind the settee about ten minutes before, which is most unlike her, then came back on the settee just before it struck. Whole house shook for around 10 seconds and suspended light fittings were swaying, but not quite as bad as the one on a Wednesday afternoon a few years ago when the bottles in Paps were shaken off the shelves.

I miss those wobbles. Especially the ones when I worked on the 3rd floor of an old building in Limassol by Makarios roundabout.

As the newest reports show that 2 smaller quakes happened exactly at Phinikas abandoned village, I just wonder if more ruins collapsed last night...

Earthquakes just above Asprokremmos and the airport
PAPHOSEIDISIS PAFOS
27/04/2022

Updated: 7 seconds ago

The latitude and longitude that the Cyprus Seismological Institute recorded for the three last night earthquakes show that they took place on land and not at sea as happened with the previous ones.

Specifically, the earthquake that occurred at 10:05 was on the scale of 2.7 Richter and occurred just above Asprokremmos with a focal depth of 15.36 km and at a distance of 13 km from Paphos.

The 2nd earthquake that occurred just 6 minutes later and was the most felt occurred on 10.11 and was just 10 km from Paphos with a focal depth of 20 km and a magnitude of 4.7 on the Richter scale and had a longer duration than the rest resulting in be felt in both Limassol and Nicosia.

The exact point that is recorded as a recording point is in Timi Paphos between the civil airport and the Andreas Papandreou military base.

The 3rd earthquake, which is considered a aftershock of the previous one, was again over Asprokremmos with a focal depth of 20 km and 3.9 on the Richter scale. Its distance from Paphos was 14 km and as you can see on the relevant map it was from the opposite bank of Asprokremmos compared to the earthquake.

The time that occurred was at 11:02 and was also felt except in Paphos and Limassol but with a shorter duration."

It seems very strange that other reports I have read list the main one at least as being out at sea
