Paphos’ new 32,000 square metre “park of colours” at the junction of Ellados and Evagoras Pallikarides avenues will open within weeks, according to mayor Phedon Phedonos.

The largest linear park in the whole of Cyprus has cost almost €4 million, Philenews also reported on Monday.

The project is one of the richest parks in Cyprus – both in terms of greenery and infrastructure.

Phedonos said: “It is one of the projects we implement for the sake of our children and our youth. We invest in youth, Paphos is changing.”

Hundreds of new trees have been planted in the park which also includes a square, playground, cafeteria, tennis court, basketball court, a futsal court and locker rooms.

As well as a skateboard arena, a climbing 3-6 meters wall, aromatic-botanical garden, sanitary facilities, 83 parking spaces for the public and the disabled and service areas.

Is the building of this new park the reason why Paps Supermarket,( adjacent to Ellados Ave), has the road next to it currently dug up? This has caused great inconvenience to the thousands of people who normally shop there. Also Paps has currently lost about half of its normal parking area.
If the above is the reason, this minor road already busy with shoppers vehicles, will have additional cars using it when the park opens. This will make it even more difficult to enter or exit Ellados Ave!

From what I heard it wasn't Pap's land. I think there will be access to the Park from the Old Town end.

Thanks for that info, Dominic. Hope you're right! Maybe there will be more than one entrance/exit from the park. But there must be a reason why the road in question by the side of Paps has been dug up and possibly widened a bit...
Time will tell!

The countdown for the biggest park in Cyprus, the “Park of Colors” in Paphos has already begun. It is now a matter of a few weeks before the public can enjoy it.

The biggest park of Cyprus is located between Ellados Avenue and the roads of the commercial center, it covers an area of 32 thousand s.m. and it is the richest park in Cyprus both in terms of greenery and infrastructure.

Hundreds of trees have been planted and it includes a playground, cafeteria, tennis and basketball courts, a small football field, a 3-6 meters climbing wall, a skateboard area, an open-air exhibition center, a botanical garden, parking places, management and information office and many more.

The name of the park was not chosen by accident. According to the architects, it is intended to remind people of the value and importance of paints in everyday life.
