Kilt shop
There used to be a kilt hire shop in kato Paphos close to
Paphiakos vet and opposite the big church.
It seems to have moved.
Does anyone know where it has moved to

Re: Kilt shop
Will be interested to know if it is still in existence, as I remember hearing that the owner had returned to the UK?

Im guessing people coming to Cyprus to get married would have one with them, the only others would be serving UK forces personal on island, who might need one
Re: Kilt shop
Why would they bother if they can rent one here? It's the same with renting a suit for a wedding.

Re: Kilt shop
There was some years ago a mans shop on the road to St Neophytos Monastery, Tala, which if I remember hired out kilts and mens dress clothes. But it didn't last long, perhaps a lack of regular business.

Occasionally Suited in Chloraka is still going, I think. Companies like that must have been especially badly hit by the pandemic.

Re: Kilt shop
Yes Dee,I spoke to the man who owned the golf shop in Tala years ago and he said lack of business and very high rent forced him to close the shop, presume same applied to the other business

Re: Kilt shop
To hire a kilt in the UK then take it to Cyprus doesn't really make sense.
1) you have to hire it for a longer period therefore it's more expensive
And
2) kilts (and all of the accessories) are heavy beasts. Even if you dispense with the formal jacket and wear a ghillie shirt, there's still the shoes, socks, belt and sporran to consider all of which will only be worn for the one day of even a weeks holiday.
