how do I add a photo to my post
Re: how do I add a photo to my post
Add it as an attachment. Once loaded, click Place Inline.
To load an attachment, click the menu to the right of OPTIONS when you are editing the body of your post. That opens up a menu of one item: ATTACHMENTS. From there, click ADD FILE, to load it, and PLACE INLINE.

Oh you use the older interface. Looking at that, the bottom bit seems to be saying "Upload Attachment" so I would guess it is below that.

Indeed it does say 'upload attachment' but I've tried to upload my screenshot (which is only 248KB) but it just spins the 'uploading' circle without actually doing anything.

Are you using the "older" interface (I use 'subsilver2') or another?

I.m not sure what it is called, but yes I am using the older interface. Try it and see if it makes a difference

I use prosilver - at the bottom I see two tabs: Options and Attachments
Click Attachments > Add Files > choose my photo from my gallery/storage > Status bar fills green > Submit (you can also Preview first).

I've switched to prosilver, which bizarrely reads from right to left
, isn't that how the Chinese do it.
Anyway ... testing with an attachment ....

The poster's details are on the right of the message whereas on subsilver, they are on the left
I've found another 'profile' called SE Square left .... will try with that

Stick with ProSilver if you can. When the forum inevitably has to be upgraded that one will be the most likely to still work ok.

Re: how do I add a photo to my post
This was always my problem with the newer profile changes quite a while back.
The one I preferred showed the user profile image to the left side of the post thread and subsequent comments.
I've got used to it now but it doesn't mean I like it
