Good idea! I keep hearing that several people have flu like symptoms after. This will at least hopefully, slow some people down from 'socialising'! As well as improving their immunity in due course...

Good idea if the GP’s can handle the extra workload, also good that the Gov is prepared to be flexible and adapt their plans for the vaccination programme.
Surprised that few people have picked up on the penultimate clause in the 16/4 decree:
2.4 Regulation 2.39 of the Quarantine (Determination of Measures to Prevent the Spread of COVID-19 Coronavirus) Decree (No 12) of 2021 is hereby amended by deleting the full stop at the end of its reservation and by adding the following new reservation:
“Provided further that employees falling within the provisions of this Regulation who either hold a valid vaccination certificate against COVID-19 issued by the Republic that their vaccination scheme has been completed and that the necessary period of time set out by the guidelines of the Ministry of Health has elapsed, of have been diagnosed positive to COVID-19 and the period of six months as of the sampling date for the initial laboratory testing has not elapsed, are exempted from the obligation to undergo a COVID-19 antigen rapid test.”
In other words, get vaccinated and after a period of time (not specified), no more weekly testing which in theory lowers the testing numbers per day and the fore the 7 day rolling average, but may raise the % positive.

Sounds a bit long winded... but this probably won't affect the numbers of people who haven't been vaccinated yet, and now want to be.

Dee, what’s long winded? That’s how the decrees are written if you’ve ever read them and why I summarised.
However, I agree that if people are sticking there heads in the sand and only want the Pfizer jab, it won’t change things. BUT this change could encourage those in the working population who are fed up of being tested every week with a jab up their noses and don’t mind which vaccine they have, to get out of that process sooner rather than later and perhaps turn the tide of anti AZ attitudes.
