Route help please
Route help please
We are thinking of travelling in a private car from Paphos to the crossing at Pergamos then to visit the Karpaz peninsula, Famagusta and Kyrenia . Any tips on a route please.
Re: Route help please
The roads either side of the Pergamous (Pyla) crossing are a bit naff, and they often have long delays.
Best way is to take the motorway past Pyla and up the long hill, turn left (Achna/Vrysoulles), and
carry on to the Ayios Nik British base and follow the signs for Famagusta - just after the base is the Ay.Nik crossing
point. Very quick.
Head off thru to Famagusta.
First roundabout straight across.
Second roundabout take 2nd exit for Salamis, and from there on to the Karpas.
Nice trip and good roads all the way.
Coming back from the Karpas turn right just before Bogas and carry straight on to join the coast road to Kyrenia.
WARNING Kyrenia has a sewage overflowing problem in the town and in the harbor right now. Take clothes pegs!
Geoff.

Re: Route help please
Geoff, it occurs to me that a guide to visiting the North would be quite useful. Would you be able to furnish me with any more information, and I will see if I can knock something together. Any info you think relevant really.
If you would rather not I fully understand, but if I don't ask I don't get.
