I am with HIC on this one. After Brexit things will be different. As HIC says, travelling within Europe every country there are EU and ‘rest of the world’ channels. Progress through the EU channels at all European airports is generally much quicker. Just look across the arrival hall and you will see long lines of non EU citizens from everywhere else. Progress here will be slow and police and immigration officers are doing a slow and careful job with each person. When I was travelling on holiday last Christmas we arrived at Munich airport. Those of us with the recent EU issued passports went through the EU channels very quickly, our passports going into automatic scanners. A few people in our group had older passports without a microchip. They had to join a queue full of Russians which had just arrived on another flight.we had to stand and wait for them for over an hour, before they got through.. This procedure will, probably be the same when one returns to Paphos. We won’t be able to use the many EU channels, but will be queuing with all the non EU arrivals... we may not get such good treatment from the Immigration officers as we have been used to.At the moment its wait and see! But already we have been told by UK authorities that British driving licenses probably won’t be legal in Europe after Brexit we will need International Driving Licenses if driving in Europe on holiday say..

I accept that the queues at customs will be longer. Does my life depend on or revolve around that??

Hell no! I'm able to weigh up the myriad benefits which Brexit will bring and accept a queue at customs as a small price to pay :)

Sorry Kili01 for once I strongly disagree with your views …………… how do you know what immigration agreements we will make with the glorious EU and ask yourself why should things be any different to those that operate now? Only one I know of & that is intransigence, why change something that works?

Lloyd, waiting at an airport is not the problem for me that it appears to be for you, and incidentally I'm 75! Nor am I prepared to enter a tit for tat silly contest about what the benefits of EU/Brexit benefits might be. They will be different for all of us. Waiting in a queue at an airport for me simply isn't one of them, I do think you could have chosen many other ideas to promote your obsession!!

I travel backwards and forwards to the UK at least 3 times a year, and due to the circumstances I'm frequently held up for long periods, so delays at airports is certainly not a problem for me.

I wish we wizzed through Manchester passport control when we arrive from overseas. I've yet to see that happen but Liverpool appear to manage it well enough!

I travel to and from several different airports in the UK, and have to say that the smaller airports - Leeds Bradford, East Midlands, Bristol..... provide a more pleasant and efficient operation than the larger airports around the UK!

So why not at the UK Border after Brexit we have a British Citizens set of passport control booths, another for Rest of the World and a separate set for EU passport holders. We delay tit for tat the EU citizens whilst they seemingly will be delaying UK passport holders at EU borders. Easy isn't it.

There may well be delays - who knows? Certainly not you or I HIC.What I am sure of is that the whole issue of border control is currently being negotiated.
What I am also sure of is there is not a damn thing that you or I can do about it.

And neither is denialism which is also an unhealthy state of mind.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to determine that it will take longer to go through the non-EU Citizens channel than the EU one; I've accompanied my wife through for the last fifteen years and a two hour wait isn't unusual.

Tyelaw, Project Fear is been negotiated but it doesn't mean it will or wont happen - Why should anyone think that your so called negotiations will be successful?

Can you honestly say that you think that the UK government actually know what they are doing and they are all singing from the same song sheet?
Do the UK government actually know what they want?

Ah but Jim I am denying nothing because I don't know exactly as you don't know. There may well be discussions around UK passport holders as opposed to all other non European citizens. You may well be right but you are making assumptions.
The same applies to your post boycott.I wish we all had a crystal ball but we don't so why waste your precious time on this earth worrying about something you have absolutely no control over?

Please point out where I made assumptions, I pointed out from first hand experience the difference between transitting EU and non-EU Channels at EU airports. To believe that the British will be given preferential treatment when crossing EU Borders once leaving the EU block is to my mind wishful thinking, we are not given preferential treatment in any other country I can recall and I've been to quite a few.
As for Hudwells comment; when travelling in from many non-EU countries I've seen Immigration (especially at Larnaca) tell visitors to go to the correct channel when they've tried to pass through the EU channel.

So conversely why should the UK give free unfettered access to EU citizens at the UK Border?

Jim B you are just not getting my point are you? I have no doubt that you are telling the truth re your wifes' delays at Airports.Your assumption is that all UK citizens will be affected in the same way post Brexit.
What I am saying is that we do not know yet.

I do understand the point you are putting forward but I'm of the same opinion as HIC. If the negotiation end up in that we end up staying in all but name then I can see your point but not being a gambling man I wouldn't put money on it.

I would just like to feel welcome when I visit the UK and go through Passport Control. A huge shock after the smiles and chitchat in Cyprus and other Mediterranean countries. Job is still done as quickly.

Not bothered about queues as I would prefer every single Passport was checked thoroughly for security purposes.

Hi Galexinda
Funnily enough, last year our neice flew into Larnaca from Kazakhstan (via Ukraine). She's a very beautiful young woman and the the young Immigration guy was practicing his chat up lines on her; anyway it transpired from the data on the computer he knew everything about her, age, how many times she had visited Cyprus, where she was staying etc but what was even more surprising was he knew everything about the wife and me as well.
So don't worry about security, they appear to be on top of it here in Cyprus.😊
