"footballers will then get paid a more realistic wages instead of hundreds of thousands a week"
You are now living in a fantasy world if you think footballers wages will take a dive because of live streaming !

Not living in any fantasy World, If you think that the millions of people who watch football with out paying for it ..isnt going to have an affect on Sky/Bt etc income...then I think its you whos living in your own World...Footballers get there hundreds of thousands a week wages because of the TV deals...if the deals get less so will wages, think about it.

If you paid the TV licence and lived abroad....then I suppose you have at least the moral high ground....but still infringing Broadcast regulations...🙄 And as for your second question...I have no idea!
Does your fruit carry advertising? If so, then you're paying for it as well....

An interesting point arises here, regarding Auntie BBC...

We in UK on 28.2ºE Sat and also Cable are not allowed to receive the "BBC WORLD" channel, broadcast FTA all around the world on just about every other satellite orbiting up there.

WHO pays for this? The UK TV Licence payers, of course! Something of a paradox there, methinks...

AL ?

I totally agree with you, i will be more than happy to pay for such a system.......except that so far it does not seem to exist.
In the meantime my husband is watching a rerun of Rome and I am reading Jane Austen...........but if we do not get TV back, i may end up in Cyprus News.

I don't know the details for sure, but there are three countries that have decreed through their respective high courts that some iptv is legal, viz. CH, B and NL. Providers in these countries may therefore offer services. One big IF is whether they have the right to offer services outside their national borders, e.g., to CY. However, there are some other IFs, such as some Sports channels, that the provider would have to receive encoded and probably by satellite, that may be illegal to decode without an agreement; it is possible that some iptv suppliers are in breach of this and can therefore be subject to civil and penal sanctions, including closure injunctions. This may explain why the Swiss provider has limited offerings in the sports/adult/Sky categories, but I speculate here.

What is interesting with him (I think it is a one-man show run by a Paul Novak) is that there are no prices on his website. He negotiates individually, so that, e.g., you ask for only BBC and ITV in SD only, you will get a reasonable price but ask for more and the price goes up. Personally, I'm not happy without a fixed tariff that can be seen, but that is me!

I was looking to subscribe to one of these services, but now I am pleased I did not.
We actually watch local TV, not brilliant but keeps us up to date with the news, along with news on-line, BBC World Service on SW, etc.

I'm subscribing to the basic service from http://www.uktv.media/ at €6/month and have been for several months. On the whole, very satisfied.

I had a bad moment yesterday afternoon, when it was offline, thinking of the doom and gloom posts here. A quick e-mail to them and they replied that it was just a technical hitch and were working on it. Sure enough, it was back on line a little later and it worked fine all evening. I like their service! :)

Actually, the channels are here: https://corporate.uktv.co.uk/about-uktv ... -channels/
It ( http://www.uktv.media/ ) works for me. Your links are to a UK provider whereas mine are to one in Paphos. Yours is to an unconnected URL.

Sorry, it does for me, perhaps it is in my browser's cache. I tried a different browser and it still worked. Tried it on 2 other computers which had never been used for it before and it still worked, each with different browsers.

The simplest expression that works: http://uktv.media/
