Worrying Telegraph article with nearly half a trillion £s missing
Re: Worrying Telegraph article with nearly half a trillion £s missing
They wouldn't do that though. It would be pointless. Given that the biggest bone of contention at the moment is how much the divorce bill will be, there is no point them trying to slap some more on it, because if we aren't going to pay Bill A, we sure as heck won't pay Bill A+B.

Sorry!!!'re your post Jimgward I really don't understand as the Government appear to be making light of it and the Media don't appear to be giving them a hard time .

From what I read it was a bit of a misunderstanding. Kind of like finding out your house is worth 300k when you thought it was worth 310k. If you aren't actually going to sell it it doesn't make a lot of difference. I guess it might affect people's willingness to lend the UK money, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Did anyone notice?
Is anyone adversely affected?
Has the UK suddenly dropped from being the 5th richest country in the world? (according to GDP).
It seems to me to be a bit like the Times Rich List - an annual list of the wealthiest individuals in the world. Each year it changes ever so slightly due to increase/decrease in real estate prices or the state of stock markets at the time the list is put together.
The money referred to is not actually even ‘missing’ as the misleading headline suggests.
This ‘revelation’ hasn’t particularly rocked our lives in any adverse way...
