Friend of mine has a commercial safe in his bedroom, but has his valuables hidden in amongst the old paint tins in his shed.
This is probably a much better solution than the small safes that are offered by non-specialist shops. A decent household-sized safe that is reasonably good should weigh the best part of a tonne and probably would not be supported by an ordinary residence in this country.
It really is clever, he keeps the family jewelry in an old paint tin in his shed, no one is going to open paint tins ?
