Your point is very valid, likewise if a close member or your family or even yourself, should suffer a terrible death as a result of contracting Covid, your view may very well change also. Worse still if you had passed it to that family member.
Anyone NOT having the vaccine?

Re: Anyone NOT having the vaccine?
I respect your decision, it’s youre to make…. However, your facts are wrong.sadie62 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 9:29 pm I will not be having the vaccine
My reasons are:
None of the vaccines are fully approved but rather fast tracked for Emergency Use Authorisation thus bypassing long term trials, In fact they are 'rolling trials' - meaning they are been given to the public before phase 3 trials end (in 2023_
vaccines take on average 7-12 years to develop; these were rolled out in 9 months
It is likely they don't provide immunity to disease or prevent transmission of the disease
I have concerns over the safety. Only yesterday a top official at the European Medicines Agency admitted there’s a causal link between AstraZeneca’s vaccine and blood clots - they may be rare but I don't wish to take that chance
Fully accept that others may want to take the vaccine and no one should question anyone else's decision what ever that may be
Phase 3 trials have all been finished, otherwise no approvals. The AZn vaccine has no been approved by the FDA in the USA, as they are asking for more clarification on their second Phase 3 trial. That is 100% facts.
As to the 7 - 12 years - yes, traditionally, that has been historically the case. However, these new vaccines use different technologies, were being created pre covid for user for other viruses and are a breakthrough. Therefore no need for prolonged testing.
It is true that in ‘normal’ circumstances, a longer time would have been taken for slower rollout, but these are not normal times. As people have stated, other drugs have side effects - in fact all of then. The Pill itself has a 1 in 4,000 chance of blood clots.
So, please make your decisions on ‘proper’ informed facts and perhaps speak to a specialist. My companies’ medical director is one and I have discussion every day on these matters.
Re: Anyone NOT having the vaccine?
I would rephrase the question, why would anyone have the vaccine? It doesn't stop you catching the virus, it doesn't stop you passing it on, so therefore it gives a false sense of security that you are 'safe' once you have had it. With mutation of the virus, you will need another dose in a few months, and probably a few months after that, and where does it stop? The reason that medicines take years to be developed are because side effects don't necessarily show up immediately, so the best you can say is that they are 'safe' for most people, so far. And all this is for a virus that has a tiny mortality rate, and a rate that is improving anyway as health professionals, with more experience of the virus, are finding better ways to treat those infected. When the majority of young people suffer minor symptoms, why are they being vaccinated when acquired immunity is far better? The only reason is the fear and guilt being spread that they will pass the virus on to a vulnerable person who will then die. It is this fear mongering that we need a vaccine for, not the virus!
Re: Anyone NOT having the vaccine?
Why would I have the vaccine?? Because if you do catch Covid then you have Much less severe symptoms.. It may mean the difference between feeling a little poorly or Dying..

Do you know how people with Covid die ?
I do, sadly, in fear, gasping for breath, akin to being suffocated. Not the way I want to go.
I have known three people who have died of this virus, and heard of many more, everyone has a choice of course, but choose carefully.

My Daughter is a staff nurse in a Covid Ward, and she convinced me that I needed to have the vaccine. Not that I needed any convincing ..

It vastly reduces the chances of catching it, therefore reduces chances of passing it on. If you do I catch it, almost nobody ends up seriously ill.
Nobody has stated a few months…. ‘Maybe’ 6 months, 12 months…. We don’t know…
Nonsense

Do the people not taking the vaccine not realise that sooner or later they are going to end up getting it?
