Re: British Pound slowly strengthening
I mentioned in another thread that remainers live in a dystopian world where black can be white and white can be clack if it meets their agenda, Brexit = bad.Royal wrote: ↑Thu Mar 30, 2017 8:21 pm Dear! Dear! Sterling has not been adversely affected by Article 50 being triggered. That's a good thing which we should all celebrate. I note that Lloyd had been saying up to now that it would drop once Brexit started. Now he's pushed it back to "when to negotiations start in earnest. Next it'll be when the negotiations are over etc etc etc...
In Remainerland, none of us can contact enough people to know the true feelings of the populace about Brexit - except Lynsab of course. She knows.
In Remainerland, importing/exporting outside the EU can be incredibly complex and simultaneously no barriers are put up by the EU. According to HiC who knows of course...
And of course, in Remainerland as you point out we can claim that everything is the fault of Brexit or Brexit hasn't happened yet or Article 50 hasn't happened yet if the sky hasn't fallen in...
Luckily, the Interwebz never forget....
Inflation is 2.3% and the Pound rose after Article 50 triggered...Happy in Cyprus wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2017 2:25 am As has been pointed out many times, Brexit has not started yet; it's still early days. Inflation for the UK is set to rise to 4% as a consequence of the pound's recent decline. Considered opinion is that the pound will decline further after Article 50 is declared, the 'negotiations' start and the new reality - a bit like Trump's presidency - sets inAfter that, who knows?

To be naughty, I see that David Cameron has stated that he is a committed brexiteer and never supported the EU.
Oops hope this is not moved.

Re: British Pound slowly strengthening

We had to use a clearing agent to bring our car in last year. 'Luckily' the bloke in customs at Limassol port was the cousin of the clearing agent that happened to be sharing coffee with him at his desk. And of course we couldn't clear the car without a clearing agent because we lived here permanently or something so we took him on...
He did a great job and it only cost us €100 for his time so I can't imagine there is a huge opportunity for non-Greek speaking unrelated clearing agents at the port...?
