Does the weather (rain, wind or sun spots) have any effect on your reception/use (thinking in tv terms here)?
Most of the time no, but intense high pressure systems can effect download speeds, perhaps because we are many kilometres from the mast. We only notice this in the late Autumn and not every day then. Lightning is also a problem and users are advised to turn off their WISP dish during storms. There are more breakdowns with WISP internet than fixed lines, but on the positive side, breakdowns are fixed quicker.

Many of us in the rural areas have no choice as there are no CYTA lines near. I was quoted €12,000 in 2010 by Cyta for a fixed line, plus VAT and for some unexplained reason the cost of the cable extra.
