Re: Where is H I C..
Now that HIC has once again re-emerged I want to raise an issue.
I almost deleted this thread when I first saw it, not because Trev had done anything wrong, but because if HIC was on holiday, he might not have wanted the fact that his home was more likely to be empty made common knowledge.
Personally, I am of the opinion that it is best not to divulge information on holidays etc until after the event.
So here's the question: if threads like this appear in future, should they be deleted?
Just to reiterate, I am not having a go at Trev at all. Trev, you have done nothing wrong. I just think it is something that needs to be discussed. I am happy to go with the group consensus.

I guess what you’re saying makes sense. I never disclose holidays on FB but didn’t think about the forum.
Re: Where is H I C..
Yes I can certainly see your point Dominic.. Although of course There was no mention of HIC being away until his reply..
Trev..
Re: Where is H I C..
Agree with Dom on this one. If we go away we tell No One.
All things are possible
Re: Where is H I C..
I always like Trevs posts, informative and balanced, but I agree with Dominic on this one.

Trev was asking out of concern...........I remember that somebody enquired about Paphos Al. and poor chap had passed away
It doesn’t always mean that non posting you are on holiday.
I agree that nobody wishes to advertise on social media they are away on holiday ........

Wise words Dominic. I agree that such things should be after the event. PMs could suffice during an absence.
Re: Where is H I C..
I doubt if many of us know where other members live, but which other reprobates are looking at these sites and checking signals etc???
I for one will make sure I keep shtum about future hols.

In a site like this which can be read by any member of the public then there should always be discretion used regarding revealing or questioning the whereabouts of a particular poster.

Re: Where is H I C..
Probably the only people who know where we live in Anarita are forum members who live there and can guess who I am by the history of my posts. I agree with HIC's post and would have no objection to having people ask about me if I went missing. Not that they would though
I hope we never get to the point where obituaries are not published because of fear of the dead person's house being broken into, like in some parts of the UK or when funerals go from the undertakers office not the persons home, again because of the certainty of a break in. This actually happened to my auntie. We were also told by the undertaker to clear her house as soon as possible, which we did, and got the keys handed back to the council so we were not liable for any damages.
