Polemi Rain

Post by Dominic »

The winter storms are back with a vengeance. Polemi had 46mm of rain overnight, and it showed this morning. Our webcam presented a sorry picture, but I was curious to see what was happening in other parts of the village...

Obviously the "whirlpool", how you called it Dominic did a good job. Hopefully not transferring all the water in front of your house to somebody else's property... As I can see on your webcam now, even after the heavy rain we had again, no water in the vineyard.... :?

It goes in to a drainage pipe. Where that goes to I have no idea, though if pushed I would say a few hundred metres into the vineyards, judging from where they were digging last summer.

But the vineyards are still full of water.

Dominic, water from the pipes comes out at the bottom of the hill across the fields from us - near the rubbish bin. Turn left out of your house, first left, then left at the end of the track, where the water that’s running away from the land and hills nears us runs along and joins the water coming from the pipe. It then heads off across the fields to wher you filmed the back road to Stroumbi.
