Cemetery Tax in Polemi
A curiosity question to those who live in Polemi. How much have you been charged for the Cemetery Tax? As a single person I have been charged €24.

I honestly can't remember, although we have paid it once. However we wrote a letter to say we would not be using the cemetery, and now we don't pay that tax.. Of course it is costly to fly a body back to the UK..

€24. It just gives you the right to buy a plot. You can stop if you want.

I think it is €24 per household because my late husband and I paid €24, little realising how soon he would be using the cemetary, 
and my bill this year was the same amount.
As Trev and Ian have said, you can opt out if you wish not to have the guarantee of being able to use the village cemetary.
