I'm amazed people still use deep fat friers.
Why's that then? We will always have a deep fat fryer for certain uses.
I'm with you there too Austin 7. I cook almost EVERYTHING from scratch and I own an actifry. . . . However, I missed the deep frying option so went out and bought a good old fashioned chip pan for 'Home Made' scotch eggs, fried chicken, tempura coated stuff etc etc. Wouldn't be without either option.
I haven't used a deep fat frier in 30 years. If anybody is that interested, I was living in Fulham at the time, and I used it to cook chips. I can't remember the exact date but it was definitely 1988, as I moved to Gloucester Road later on in the year.

No no no Austin 7! I go for the healthy option with mars bars.
I melt them, along with lashings of butter and golden syrup and mix with rice krispies. Press into a tin, chill in the fridge. Voila. Gooooooeeeeeyyy deliciousness.
