bank card reg

Post by darrow »

anyone heard of this before? I tried to buy online today, as i have done numerous times before, all went well until card was offered, a U.K. bank with Sterling account, and it was declined because it wasn't registered to U.K. address. rather annoyed as i spent 30 mins ordering because i was nursing a trainee customer service assistant. :x

We have an HSBC current account in UK.
We keep the registered address for the associated credit card (Visa) as our Cyprus address, and for the associated debit card (visa) as the UK address, which is the account's address.
Avoids any such problems, especially with airlines. We just use the appropriate card!

so, you use the bank address for your debit card Geoffreys? i don't use a credit card anyway. incidentally, i phoned the bank and the transaction was approved but never completed, so i think that shows it was the company's software that is not appropriate.
