The flight turned back to the UK around 30 minutes after take off.
A Jet2 flight diverted to Manchester Airport due to possible engine issues.
Flight LS405 set off from Leeds Bradford Airport at 9.15am on Wednesday morning.
It was due to arrive in Paphos, Cyprus, at 3.55pm this afternoon.
But around 30 minutes into the flight the aircraft turned back towards the UK while it was travelling over the North Sea.
The flight landed at Manchester Airport after declaring an emergency.
Passengers have said they are waiting on the runway for an update.
A spokesman for Manchester Airport confirmed the flight landed safely, but said no further details are available regarding the technical glitch.
It is understood the flight may have been forced to return due to a hydraulics failure or a problem with the engine.
The M.E.N has contacted Jet2 for a comment.
