Rare sighting: icterine warbler ?

Post by cyprusmax47 »

I was lucky enough to have my camera at the lunch table ready to act: after the sparrow crowd left the dish, suddenly this nice rare bird appeared. I am not 100% sure if it is a icterine warbler who was visiting this summer several times the birds bath... but now I got you, yes.... :)

Sorry Max, it's a Willow Warbler Phylloscopus trochilus!

Shane

Thank you Shane, I thought first it is either the icterine warbler or the melodious warbler which look similar to me. As I was reading now on arkive.org the willow warbler species decreased 70% in the last 25 years in the UK and is considered to be an Amber list bird... I wonder if the same decrease is in Cyprus..
