Another New Ryan Air Baggage Policy

Post by panoscouse »

It won't suit everyone but suits me if I read it right.

Normally if in the UK I bring a 20k bag to Cyprus for £25 but to get that bag back to the UK costs another £25 even tho it might be empty. I've got about 6 cases in a bedroom as I wont pay £25 to take an empty bag back, They dont cost that much to buy.

Now with this new pricing I can take an empty bag/case back for £8. Could even pack inside it an empty soft bag or even 2 and still be under the 10K limit.
That'll do for me.

As you say, it won't suit everyone. My normally completely free cabin bag (tagged at the gate and put into the hold) has now gone up by £8/€8. So not good for me as a short stop regular flyer. I would estimate around 100 cabin bags are normally tagged at the gate for non priority so that £800 per flight fares increase will go some way to settling the new pilot pay deal!
