Nine days ago I ordered some polo shirts from Cotton Traders and paid £10.95 for Premium Delivery. The following day the goods had moved from the U.K. to Germany, where I was dismayed to see they were in the hands of DHL. The goods arrived in Cyprus and the trail went cold. According to the DHL tracking information, the goods were waiting to be picked up (the information did not say where) by the customer “as had been agreed”.
The first error was that they had not been in touch with me, and I had paid for door-to-door delivery. I contacted Cotton Traders customer services who could not have been more helpful. They immediately refunded the money I had paid for the delivery, and took the matter up with DHL (who did not pick up the phone for two days). Finally they told Cotton Traders that they did not deliver to this area, despite being contracted to.
Cotton Traders are still pursuing the matter. I emailed them last night (and I was aware yesterday was a public holiday in Cyprus) and said I would wait until the close of business today to hear the outcome. And then, if no progress had been made, they should cancel the order and refund my money.
A salutary tale. What a bunch of cowboys DHL appear to be in this instance.
Cotton Traders and DHL ...
Re: Cotton Traders and DHL ...
Hello.
I have used Cotton Traders for several years and always come via DHL next day usually, but they are delivered to ACS office, never delivered door to door, there is now a new ACS office opened on Mossgi Rd (Polis road) so some may go there now, ASC always phone to tell you a parcel is waiting for you to pick up, I believe DHL think it is a door to door service but for sure they have never delivered here in Tremithousa, oddly UPS always call you then deliver the Items to your door, a great service.
I have recently heard DHL via ACS delivering parcels, in fact, some members here said the same, but for me no never. Not sure it is DHL that is at fault.

Re: Cotton Traders and DHL ...
If UPS can deliver to your door, why cant DHL.
Traipsing to the DHL office adds €s to the cost of the item bought no matter where you live.
I can only think that they are keeping cost low, not for us, for themselves.

Re: Cotton Traders and DHL ...
Even when I lived in Paphos I never had a delivery from them. Now I am living in the sticks there seems even less chance, as somebody had once illustrated that in Stroumbi a DHL van would pass through no doubt on their way to the Polis office and back, but they never had a delivery.
In the last 2 months I have had 3 UPS deliveries, now in 12 years of living here that is a revelation.
