I have just counted up just how many dash-cams over six years I have purchased from Amazon, all four had SD cards of varying sizes, apart from one I bought for a camera some time back is the only time I have purchased an SD card Dom. Some do not say they are included but all of them came card in box!

Wish I'd had one yesterday when I had to break hard to avoid an accident when on a dual carriageway a police car in the right hand lane cut right across me and turned left without signalling. Is it too much to hope that the police set a good example? If there had been an accident what do you reckon would be my chances of getting justice?

Wish I had one about 30 mins ago coming up from Pafos stadium in the dual carriageway towards the motorway roundabout after alfamega just past the blue cross hospital when coming down on the same road in the opposite direction was a car driven by a women with her passenger into the oncoming traffic she stopped and waited to turn right into alfamega as if nothing was wrong and everyone tooting and flashing their lights were to blame
. Unbelievable,,,

At a guess I would say they had pulled out of the garage and not realised it was a dual carriageway. If that was the case, then turning into Alpha Mega would have been the most sensible course of action.

Years ago, when we first started holidaying in Cyprus, we mistakingly drove the wrong way up a one-way street in Old Town. The pedestrians then just smiled and indicated to us that we were going the wrong way. They helped us turn round and everything was sorted out without fuss.

This is where, when we were stationary at the traffic lights next to Blue Cross hospital, an elderly English couple came off the opposite carriage way and cut right in front of us to park on the waste ground at the side of Blue cross. The lights had changed in our favour by then but they were oblivious!

Driving through Polis past Paps today, we saw an old British lady (I couldn't tell what part of Britain they were from) in a mobility scooter driving the wrong way down the dual carriageway so she could get into the supermarket without having to go further and turn around.

But so what? One of the reasons we moved to Cyprus was for the more laid back lifestyle. So why go around with a broomhandle down the back of your trousers?

Certainly not the reason we moved to Cy for family. Twice a dash cam has saved the wife and myself a lot of money.

Cyprus or not, I would also have one in the UK for sure, it makes sense to get one! no broomstick down my pants :) in fact loved (mostly) all of my years on the island, truthfully I have never been off Cy in 17 years..Yes I know sad ba****d but I am so laid back I don't want to leave :D

I wasn't referring to dashcams. I was referring to comments on people's driving mistakes.

The fun part is paying for it. I was sent to about 5 different places because the ticket hadn't been entered into the online system. I ended up in Stroumpi Police Station and they tried to send me to Panagia Police Station. I smiled at them and told them where I had already been sent, which included Paphos Police Station, various banks, and the finance office. I said I wasn't going to go to any other building, and they made some more calls. Half an hour later I was able to pay online. This was nearly two weeks after I was issued with the tickets. I wanted to pay before the two week limit so it would be cheaper.

The traffic cops said pay at any Bank within 15 days, and not before 12 hours on the offence day, I will try and pay at my bank just down the road..Failing that I will then try the Dept of Transport also just down the road.

I have posted this before but it is part of a video off my wife's Dash-Cam, a reminder about getting a dash cam, this chap a Cypriot was hit in the side of his Jeep by a blue truck still moving in front of those shops, he came straight out of a side road, you can see the truck in front of a shop that he also hit!..we gave the Cypriot chap the SD card. Its a little long, so advance the film a little forwards about 2.45seconds.That blue truck went on to hit another parked car and a shop front.

No Alan not that it needs a new blade it was a YouTube interruption problem, the point is Al it helped that Cypriot chap when making his insurance claim, we were glad to help him. The cars blades were indeed new M8.

My Dash-Cam also helped me out when I was T-boned, no arguments when it's there on Video.

Genuine Kingston Class 10 MicroSD cards can be grabbed on Amazon for £9 (32gb) or £17 (64gb).

If you're contemplating a new dashcam AND satnav, then Amazon have the perfect two in one solution for you! Garmin Nuvicam LMT-D 6" GPS with built-in dashcam and bluetooth (for hands-free calling with your mobile paired). Around £200 with free European maps for life...

I bought one a couple of weeks ago, and it tested out superbly on my day trip to Belgium last Thursday. It has a powered mount to which the screen attaches magnetically- a really nice design feature!

That does not appear to have any dashcam features. It seems to be pure satnav. Does it have Cyprus maps? Many satnavs don't.

Perhaps Al meant this one?

Garmin 010-01682-13 DriveAssist 51LMT-D 5 Inch Sat Nav with Built-In Dash Cam, Lifetime Map Updates for UK, Ireland and Full Europe, Digital Traffic and Wi-Fi - Black

https://amzn.to/2JNSJ5w

But a 4 star review in Amazon doesn't necessarily mean it is dreadful. Far too many people give 1 star reviews because they have bought the wrong product, or are using it incorrectly. I always find it is better to look at 2 and 3 star reviews. They provide a more balanced critical review.

However, the one I linked to only has 3 stars. By Amazon's standards that makes it average.
