Yes lots of rain and lots of idiots out on the road, not slowing,no lights on, overtaking when it's barely visible. Total confusion at the end of motorway roundabout when the traffic lights from Alpha Mega to Konia failed at peak hour of 07-45 / 0800 police came but just sat in the car and watched as traffic built up....vying to get out onto the roundabout....lucky no serious accidents ,

And why oh why do people throw their almost finished cigarette buds out of their car window? Smoke as many as you like, but use your ashtray ! Even after the rain you can cause a fire.

... I keep meaning to invest in a decent microphone, so I can record some of the night time sounds of Polemi. By this I mean the frogs and crickets!
We have never seen owls or foxes up here.. We do get bats though..
Scattered Thunderstorms forecast for early tomorrow .. Our dog will be quaking again
I guess the reservoirs still need the precipitation, but it's strange weather for May, isn't it?
By contrast, UK has been basking in an early Summer all over the bank holiday weekend, and today. Around 26ºc - I should have gone out in the garden and soaked it in, LOL!
Like thunder and lightning, also rainfall is very locally in Cyprus. Last midnight we had some very noisy (close) lightnings but unfortunately dry again over night. So altogether I measured 7mm/m2 of rain the last two days, but it was better than nothing as it was the first rain since 30.3. (Tsada Golf area) and perhaps if we are lucky we get a bit more until May ends. So the whole March I measured 10 mm and now 7 mm which adds up to only 17 mm in nearly 3 month. No wonder our large dam Asprokremnos is already so low. The dam lost already ca 7 MCM since the highest reading 14.2.18 which was 21 MCM then. So all the inflow since Oct 17 is already gone and the summer is not really here...
You are welcome to the thunderstorms especially during the normal sleeping hours. Unfortunately our dog is frightened to death and we have had little sleep over the last 48 hrs..
You've got to be kidding! What part of Polemi do you live in? We've just had a complete deluge! I've been out getting all the garden furniture cushions under cover. By the time I was finished I looked like I had been for a swim in the pool, which is now at least an inch fuller.

Distant rumbling here. Thunderstorms can be very local; on one occasion, this end of the village was dry, while it was a deluge at the other end, <1 km away. The most strange memory, still in my mind, from the late 1930s, was on the upper deck of an Edinburgh tram, which had a ~1 m wide window at the front, trundling noisily along Polwarth Avenue (or Road?), when we entered a cloudburst. I kid you not, for at least 20 seconds, the right side of the front window was rain bespattered and the left side remained dry! I know it couldn't be later because the trams had thick black netting pasted over the windows during the war.
