Any recommendations in the Paphos area, for somebody to sharpen kitchen scissors?
Thanks

Not sure if this is of any help, as it just seems to be knives,
but you never know.

Most modern scissors are made from sheet metal and are not worth trying to sharpen them as the wear is round the rivet. I don't know whether you are aware that traditional scissors are hand-forged but there is only one artisan (+ an industrial) left in Sheffield making 'real' scissors, where there used to be tens of artisans. I believe that if you wish to buy such 'real' scissors, you must be prepared to spend many tens of £££.

It's worth asking the gals in local hairdressing salons in Paphos where they have their expensive scissors sharpened.

As Devil says, if the pivotal rivet (or screw) has become worn or loose over time, they won't cut properly anyway. But either of these issues can normally be rectified with a hammer or screwdriver.

As to sharpening the two blades, this is a DIY job using a small file. The secret is NOT to file the flat underside of each blade (the two that mate together as you close them. Sharpen the other bevelled sides using gentle one way strokes AWAY from the cutting edges, following the same angle.

Test your results by cutting newspaper or thin plastic. You'll know when you have it perfect!
