Name of this plant

Post by LouiseCastricum »

I'm looking for the name of this plant. I got it from a friend. She told me it's originally from South Africa. Bees love it, snakes hate it. It appears to be a strong plant, but no idea of the name. My friend calls it the "snake'' plant.

Can't help you I'm afraid but your post looked lonely. :)

Strange looking flower. From the photo it looks like a succulent but the flowers remind me more of heather.

Yes it's a strange plant. It's not a succulent however.

I also have this plant, always wondered what it was called, according to Google it is Plectranthus Neochilis, sometimes called Lobster plant...........didn't know it is reputed to repel snakes though, now that's a bonus!

Not that it matters, before anybody thinks it worthy of an argument.

I should also perhaps that the leaves have a strong, not unpleasant scent when rubbed and that the plant seems to be quite invasive. As for its drought tolerance abilities, it could be a good one to have in the garden! Thank you for all the information.
