Exodus, you have missed a few questions, the biggest one perhaps being which country keeps building settlements on land that does not belong to them and that is contrary to international law?

You cannot compare Israel with other countries, as other countries don't operates land grabs the same way that Israel does and don't keep bombing and shooting their neighbours when they throw a few stones.

If Israel weren't able to hide behind the USA they would not have got away with many of things they have arbitrarily done over the years, like a self imposed blockade of Gaza and firing on aid ships and killing foreign citizens.

On Radio 4 this evening,an Israeli commentator was declaring that ALL of Jerusalem is the Israeli capital, including East Jerusalem ... so there you have it. 200,000 illegal settlers and now no chance they’ll be disposed nor of Palestine every using East Jerusalem as it’s capital.

Netanyahu and Trump remind me of a Mark Twain saying.... “If you dont speak, they’ll think your stupid, if you do, they’ll know you are”

Reported on BBC news this morning was Netanyahu meeting with the EU and saying that he expected them to follow Trump's suit and recognise Jerusalem as their capital and the Eu replied by saying there was no chance of them doing that and the EU would continue to recognise the "international consensus" on Jerusalem.

I fully recognise that Jerusalem should be a capital for Israel AND Palestine. East Jerusalem should be the Palestine capital WHEN agreement can be reached. There’s a long process before that. In the meantime, this is causing and will cause more problems.

The Islamist loonies in the West Bank and Gaza will use any excuse to cause trouble; they do not want peace just the destruction of Israel. The leadership of the Palestinian Authority are scared of them and so dare not stand up to them and seek peace.
Israel is scared of no one!
Whether no Embassies, only one, or many, relocate to Jerusalem is a by the by really.
The fact is Jerusalem IS the Capital of the State of Israel, always was and always will be; end of.

For me, what is worse is that the "loonies" to use your phrase, in Israel and the USA have some really scary weapons and seem more than happy to use them. That seems a much greater risk for the rest of us.

I think that we will have to agree to differ on this one and let time sort things out - or not!

Yes that is right, we will have to wait and see.
However, I remain optimistic the Leadership of the Palestinian Authority will come to their senses and return to the negotiating table,
You criticise Israel - but please remember we are under daily attacks, whether pot shots, rockets, or suicide bombers.
The "rest of you" has nothing to fear from Israel and are under no risk from Israel.

The way Israel has illegally build settlements everywhere against UN resolution after resolution, what have the Palestinians got to negotiate? until the extremists on both sides relise that peace will only come when there are two states side by side, will a peace be achieved, keeping Palestinians like animals will never give you peace. but as long as the Jewish lobby in the USA have the politicians in its pocket dont hold your breath.

Animals!?
What do you call the Islamist Terrorists who attach Israel on an almost daily basis? Not animals - Sh**tters.
They don't want peace and never did. They only care about seeing and bringing about the demise of the State of Israel.
Take off your rose tinted specs, and accept the reality.
I have no more to contribute to this thread.

It seems the minute any one posts something you dont like, you pick up your ball and leave....I call any terrorists that murder innocents evil, I would suggest its you that needs to take off the rose tinted specs, because according to you, because Trump has recognized Jerusalem as the capital everyone should accept it and move on...it aint going to happen, I have no ties to the Israelis or Palestinians, both parties have suffered enough, the only way there will be peace is if there are two states side by side, while Israel bombs Palestinians for throwing stones there will be more young men ready to become extremists, and the cycle continues.

The Jewish argument that Israel has always existed with Jerusalem as its capital, doesn’t fit with their desire to relocate every worldwide Jew in Israel, where the agreed green-line of 1947-8 is not big enough to support their aims. As a result, there never will be a Palestinian state and the Israeli government needs to come out and say that. Arabs and Christians will bit by bit be forced to relinquish lands they have lived on for millennia.

It’s a terrible situation that has led to terrorism and the Israeli state would get worldwide sympathy if they showed some basic human moral rights to Palestinians in Gaza. Yes, there are Hamas terrorists there, but not every Gaza resident is a terrorist. Just like not every Catholic in NI was a member of the IRA. The way to stir terrorism, is to create injustice, such as the Bloody Sunday example in NI, that rocketed membership of the IRA.

Trump has said he would nuke North Korea - killing millions, for 1 man’s despot leadership. I’ll defer from suppporting a lunatic like that, or his stirring of a sensitive region that needs worldwide observation and jurisdiction.

Absolutely right.
Look, when the Leadership of the Palestinian Authority gets a grip, stops the daily attacks by the militants on innocent Israeli people and returns to the negotiating table, THEN we can sort out who lives where and on what basis and sort out the two State scenario.
Meantime the peace process has hit the buffers, and it ain't Israel's fault.

Well to simplify it they took half of Jerusalem which started it.
Look back to the 1967 war and read all about the background.
Neither side is blameless in all this, but right now as per my previous posts The Leadership of the Palestinian Authority has to get a grip etc. I won't repeat it all yet again.
Look, if so many forum members are anti-Israel and refuse to accept all that, then I have to say (with much regret) that it is starting to look anti-semetic. I hope that is not the case but I am not so sure in all cases.
