High Resolution Images on Disk

Is it possible to produce high resolution images from a low resolution disk? If so, does anyone know where we could get this done? Any help appreciated.

What do you mean by "low resolution disk"?

Dominic, our daughter has a low resolution disk with lovely photos of our grandchildren which we would like to get printed. As I understand it these images are fine for posting on Facebook and other media but because of the low resolution are no good for any form of printing as they would just appear grainy and slightly blurred. The larger the image, the worse it gets. That's all I know.

Sunbeam, are you in UK?
If so, you could take the disk to a local supermarket (we use Morrisons) and print just one of the photos in the self-service machines.
It takes about 3 minutes and costs around 40p for a 5" x 3" photograph. At least that way you can see for yourself how grainy the images will look.

When you say "disk" do you mean CD? There is no such thing as a low resolution disk these days. The images stored may well be low resolution, but the disk itself will just be a disk.

You need to determine how big the pictures are.

If you can read the disk in a computer, get the file list up and just hover your mouse over an image. A box should pop up giving you size information.

If you tell us that I can say just how lores they are. I would need two bits of information:

1. Size of file (eg 2300k. or 2.3mb)
2. Dimensions (eg 1024x768, 4000x3000)
