Hi,
My wife and I recently got approved for our MEU1 at imagration, the guy there gave us 2 slips and said these were our proof until the cards come in 3 or 4 months. He said to show them at the airport both ways.
When we went through the airport the cutoms guy would not look at them just took our UK passport and stamped it.
Have I misunderstood things, should i offer the forms at passport control with our UK passport or not? It was my understanding that once aproved my UK passport would no longer be stamped.
Or do I need to wait for the card for things to change. I just don't want to get into trouble for doing the wrong thing.
thank you in advance.
Gary.

Hello Gary. As far as I am aware the confirmation that you have attended immigration and await receipt of your Biometric card should, I reapeat, should have let you through the airport immigration without your UK passport being stamped. But as we expats say out here "This is Cyprus and anything can and will happen."
The stamp on your passport expires after 90 days. I would perhaps visit Paphos immigration to get it deleted from your passport otherwise technically after 90 days you are in breech of the law. Maybe others have an answer. Good luck.

Re: New MEU1 Advice please
Its not clear from your post what are some of the relevant facts..
Perhaps you could clarify parts of your post
Did you apply for a MEU1 or a UKW1/ UKW3 (one of the biometric cards issued to UK nationals who were resident in cyprus prior to 31 Dec 2020)?
Do you have a yellow slip i(MEU1) issued prior to 31 Dec 2020?
Did you have your UK passport stamped on the way into Cyprus or on the way out?
Are you planning to pass through Cyprus passport control before you have wharever you applied for?
What have you done since 31 Dec 2020 when passing through Cyprus passport control ? ( for example presnted your MEU1 yellow slip ?)
Are you an EU citizen or married to an EU citizen?

Hi Mark,
Answers to your questions.
We applied for the new card the MUKW1
No we have been visiting Cyprus since 1990 and owned property sine 1994 but never had pink or Yellow slips.
We had our passport stamped both ways but on leaving we has qualified for oyr new card.
Yes we will be entering Cyprus again in a couple of weeks but will not have our card for months yet.
Since 2020 and before we have used our British passport.
We are both British, not EU Citizen.
Cheers,
Gary.
