Hi, I received my S1 certificate from the UK and took it to the citizens service centre, signed their form and have now received a white card in the post.
Can anyone tell me what to do with this card, do I just keep hold of it or take to another office?
Thanks
S1 certificate
Re: S1 certificate
Prior to GESY I had to produce this for the village doctor to obtain my prescription. Since GESY I have never been asked by doctor or specialists to show this card, just keep it in a safe place in case you are ever asked to produce it.

Re: S1 certificate
The Cyprus Medical Card is issued for 5 years.
I have had to produce it to see certain specialists and have certain procedures done at Limassol and Paphos General Hospitals and also for dental treatment at Polis Chrysochou Hospital and had to show it when admitted to Paphos General Hospital in July 2019.
There are two types of state healthcare provided in Cyprus:
1. OKPY or State Healthcare Services Organisation: https://shso.org.cy/en/
2. GESY: https://www.gesy.org.cy/launchpad.html
Re: S1 certificate
This post caused me to check our S1 forms for an expiry date. I was relieved to find that they had a start date but the until box was left empty. I assume this means we are covered indefinitely.
Re: S1 certificate
I wouldn´t be so sure about that. My S1 also doesn´t have an expiry date, but I´m sure it would lose validity if I stopped being covered by my (German) public health insurance (because they´re the ones who´d have to pay in the background, should I make use of it).
