Doorbell for gate at end of drive

Post by MacManiac »

With the imminent arrival of Oscar, our rescue dog, we will be locking our gate - which is at the end of a short drive. We are looking for a simple, weatherproof system which will ring the door bell inside the house when someone is at the gate. I suspect wireless will be more straightforward than wired. Any suggestions welcome.

I have had this system for over three years working over 100 meters. The PIR detector beam can be narrowed by using tape so that it only activates when someone approaches the gate. The batteries last over a year.

I have a 'Ring' doorbell, mine is wired in, but they do work with batteries, not only does it alert you to someone at your door, but you can communicate with the person also, via your phone. Don't know if that would work in Cyprus, but it works via your internet, and you can have a record of visitors, (at a cost) which has helped me out a couple of times when looking for proof of activity outside my home.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.
