The forest area of Northern Paphos is full of beautiful hidden valleys, with old mining roads snaking between them. Other reminders of the industrial past include overgrown slag heaps and abandoned quarries, like the Red Pool. If you explore the surroundings you would find an interesting variety of minerals and be assaulted with odours you last experienced in a Chemistry Lab at school.
In this film, we start at the pool, and take the main route to Lysos. This is a fantastic village on the edge of Paphos Forest, which is well worth a visit. There is a lovely church there with a nice water feature below it.
After Lysos we drive through the hamlet of Meladeia, where you will find a decent picnic table. We finish in the village of Peristerona, which is also worth exploring. Find you way to the gorge overlook here, and you will be in for a real treat!
Our 4th Road Trip eBook includes this leg. If you want help exploring the Polis to Pomos coastline, check it out.
