Reading the article I reckon it's November for fuel and December for heating oil, most likely the 1st of each month.

Hopefully this link works as there is a lot of detail in the article:

https://in-cyprus.philenews.com/local/t ... 6-million/

Highlights
1.Cascading electricity cost subsidies for the billing months November 2023 – February 2024, for electricity bills metered until 29.2.2024

2.Reduction of excise duty on motor fuels 8.33 cents per liter, including VAT, to the minimum rates under the acquis
for the months of November 23 – February 24 (petrol from €0.429/liter to €0.359/liter and diesel from €0.40/liter to €0.33/liter).

There are 17 government measures in total.

The Star filling station on the coast road was selling 95 unleaded at €1.56 a litre earlier this week.

This petrol station (in Chloraka) often comes up on the various mobile apps showing the cheapest petrol in the Paphos district.

Any lower price is relative to if you are in the vicinity of a particular garage.

Having read the full link, if all that is written were to be enacted, where will all the funds needed come from? Sounds a bit to good to be true...

It is now anticipated that the Parliament will convene on Thursday, November 2, to approve the bill. If this occurs, the new measures may come into effect as soon as Friday, November 3, allowing fuel station owners a brief window to adjust their prices.

Should the delay materialise as expected, the expiration of the measure will be extended by the number of days it is postponed. For example, if the reduction takes effect on November 3, it would remain in force until March 3, 2024.

This is strange because the original article stated that the reduction would be for THREE Months. But from early November to early March is FOUR Months.

Over many years I have learnt to take everything with a pinch (or two) of salt until there is an official announcement.
Even then there is sometimes an amendment (or two or three or four) in the following days!

Every little helps!

It is a bonus that many petrol stations had recently decreased their prices in the past 7-10 days and now this extra official amount is making a noticeable difference when filling the tank.

There is a cellpone app which shows fuel prices in Cyprus: "fuelCY". It even offers navigation to the petrol station of your choice.
