ETIAS (Schengen)

Post by kansas »

Does anyone know if the MUKW3 biometric card covers you for trips to European countries or will we have to apply for an Etias (Schengen) visa when it becomes available?

We have our MEU3 paperwork and will shortly be applying for the biometric card but someone has mentioned that we might also need to apply for the Schengen visa. Apparently its early days yet........

This is the official EU website for ETIAS which explains it all.

The most relevant bit for the majority of Brits in Cyprus is:

UK nationals and their family members who are beneficiaries of the Withdrawal Agreement are exempt from ETIAS: they may reside on the territory of their EU host country and travel to other European countries requiring ETIAS as long as they hold documents proving their status.
