CYTA SoEasy PAYG

Post by PolemIan »

FYI, and apologies if this is old news, we’ve just found out in the Cyta shop in the Kings Mall, that the validity periods for PAYG top ups has changed since we last did a top up, so a €10 top is now valid for 6 months rather than 12, and €5 one for 3 months rather than 6.

Something to be aware of, particularly for those who have a Cyprus number but are only here periodically.

I've always found the notion of a validity period as a bit of a con.

Thanks for the update - €10 per annum is plenty for me but I will have to pay double now in order to keep the phone number.

Same here for Mrs PolemIan. So next expiry we will switch her to PrimeTel who have confirmed via their chat service today that top ups are valid for 365 days, or go for one of their plans that I’m on.

I put 10 Euro on mine in April and it still says valid until 25th April 24 so perhaps I bought just in time?

Will she be able to keep the same phone number?

I added credit in April and the validity was 12 months until April 24, yesterday added more credit (online) and validity remains April 24 so now 11 months. 8-)
I started off with nothing and have most of it left !

That is a very interesting question, because no one wants to change their phone number in Cyprus..

Nice way for CYTA so easy to double their revenue , I never use up my allowance and the balance on my phone is building up , but I need to keep my number as the Bank of Cyprus use it when I use a cash machine .

I believe so - I did when I moved from Cyta to PrimeTel and the implication of two banners on this link is that transferring to their PAYG brings double top up and 1gb of mobile data per top up
