Urgent Document to UK

I need to send a document to the UK urgently. What is the best way to do this, as time is of the essence?

A friend recently had a similar issue and was advised to go to the post office and ask for DHL express service. Cost around €30 but was signed for by their solicitor the following afternoon in the NW of England.

I don't know about other countries, but this is the worst one I know of in Cyprus. Only recently, my Swiss bank sent me some urgent documents to sign by DHL and it took a whole week before I received them, causing me some embarrassment. When I was working for the Swiss government and the United Nations Environment Programme, I frequently had to collect documents from the DHL offices despite the fact that they had been paid for for delivery to domicile. Believe me, DHL is right at the bottom of my list and UPS is firmly at the top, as they consistently deliver to domicile the following day after collecting in Germany.

Of course, this applies to documents and goods to Cyprus; I have no experience of sending from Cyprus – it may be different.

Would have to agree on this occasion - I have stuff sent mainly from America and Germany several times a week and i would use UPS everytime for peace of mind - You can find out where it is at any given time and their tracking system is faultless a very professional company - DHL in my experience are a waste of space - they quote you a delivery time but you could easily ad 10 days to that at the moment just this week a parcel from DHL has been untrackable for 4 days then it just got delivered without warning - the new thing with DHL seems to be you can track it from the sending country to the dispatch airport and then nothing at all until it arrives at your door - I am sure that some casual users will have had good experiences with DHL but when you have used them regularly you get a much clearer picture of what a shambles they are - With German stuff you don't have much choice but if i did it would be UPS everytime

Thanks for your input. I went to ACS in Polis to send the document. €25.80 … ouch. But no document then no teacher’s pension.

Received at Larnaca lunchtime on Monday 24th. Item delivered mid-morning Tuesday 25th. Pretty impressive and thus highly recommended.
