I came across a telephone app (free) on both the Apple and Google Play Store called 112 Cyprus. It calls the emergency 112 number in the police control room and all your details are automatically relayed, which can then be forwarded to the emergency vehicle. We live in the middle of a field at the end of a 250 metre track and ambulances find it nearly impossible to find us. This app incorporates GPS positioning from wherever the call is made.
We hope to never need to call in an emergency but it could be life-saving. Works flawlessly on our Android phones and I am sure the Apple version will work just as well.

Re: 112 Cyprus app
We had occasion to use this app in October when my wife broke her hip. It was farcical. Nobody, but nobody, at the call centre spoke English. My landlord was nearby and he spoke to them in Greek, with the result that two separate ambulances were dispatched but neither could find our house.
Eventually one arrived, closely followed by the other, and then the mukhtar, and then half the village.
The paramedics were absolutely brilliant, as ever, and one explained there was a problem with GPS. Where the problem lay was not clear.
So excellent care but totally underwhelmed by the app and the response we got.
Has anyone else used it - successfully or unsuccessfully?
