Shame as we live below the altitude needed for this payment. 294meters.

But it is certainly a good thing for those who live higher up in the villages that have really cold weather

Fuel allowance in Cyprus is for villages from 600 m sea level and above. So Tsada is not high enough however Koili is....

That is a shame as there are some homes in Tsada that are over 600mts.
But I assume they have to pick a point in the village rather than measure the height of individual houses

There are only 3-4 houses belonging to Tsada, a bit down of the large photo-voltaic park with trackers which are 608 m sea level, 200 m from the border to Koili village. You can see them on Dominic's street view images...

We got the winter payment when we lived in Tsada so it may be worth checking at the council office to see if you qualify

If my memory serves me right, then if the main church of the village is above 600 mtrs then the whole village is eligible.

I must admit that I got it wrong and parts of Tsada (church area) are just above 600 m, however other parts of Tsada (Vikla) or Olympos are well below this 600 m limit (400-500 m) and I wonder if this poor people :) :) :) get also the fuel allowance for their villas.

I am fairly sure that Uncle D is correct, it is the height of the church above sea level.

If they live in Cyprus full time yes, to be honest Vikla is like a ghost town most of the time so I guess that there aren't many permanent residents there.

Tsada is on the official list of qualifying villages. It says 620m for the height. Maybe that’s an average.
