Just spent an amazing two hours watching the St Petersburg Theatre of Song and Dance at the Markideio Theatre. We go to a lot of shows there but must say this was one of the best shows we've ever seen.
If you ever have the time it's well worth attending as many of the performances from Russia, Georgia etc. are excellent.

I went to this event too and agree with your remarks. Never seen anything quite like this. The performances were amazing, performing a combination of dance, gymnastics, and occasionally singing. I went with my Russian friends and neighbours who also clearly enjoyed it. The costumes were colourful, and I was fascinated by the unusual (for me) Russian instruments being used by the accompanying musicians who were also on stage.
The audience also showed pleasure by clapping in time with the music when appropriate..
I will also watch out for any future Russian entertainment...
