How stupid can Brits be?

How sanguinary stupid can my fellow countrymen get? At our present knowledge of the reliability of the vaccines, we have no clue as to either how much the selfish holidaymakers will contribute to viruses they can bring back or how they will contribute their viruses into their holiday climes.

Sad thing about the Express was that years ago it used to be a very good paper with interesting columnists. I used to love reading Peter Tory's column.

Why are they stupid? The may need a holiday after a very stressful year. It is not only Brits, we have just returned from Romania (Maybe I am a stupid Brit too!). The airport was jam packed with people going on holiday ( a planeful coming here). If you have been vaccinated and tested you have done the best you can to protect yourself. Life HAS to return to some semblance of normality.

If there were millions of Brits leaving the country on holiday, I would say they were stupid. However, the millions are a figment of the Express's imagination, thank the Lord! Nevertheless, I don't believe there were millions but, even if they counted only in thousands, they were still stupid to risk catching some variant of the dreaded virus or, worse, selfishly passing it on to other people.

Who am I to judge? I will judge any newspaper that exaggerates the truth for effect and thereby generating a myth to go around the social media. I will also judge harshly any hedonist who potentially puts the lives of third persons at totally unnecessary risk (not to mention their own life).

Not millions nor thousands but 12 flights arrived Paphos yesterday from UK alone with another load arriving today.
They made the decision to be jabbed so I wouldn't call them selfish or stupid.
I for one hope they have a great holiday

I'm due to leave for Cyprus in approximately four weeks.
I haven't seen my apartment for almost two years on the date we arrive.
Wild horses wouldn't keep me off that aircraft of its at all possible for me to get there.

I chose the word "hedonist" carefully to make the distinction between those who come here (or elsewhere) purely for their own pleasure and those who have a good reason, other than just for the fun of it, such as those who have property, business or relatives. I should imagine that, if you haven't somebody looking after the apartment, you may get a shock when you see it with two years of accumulated dust etc.

I think I am correct that people who are not vaccinated can fly from the UK to Cyprus - UK is in the Red Category - reading Section 52b of the Decree dated 19 July 2021.

I'm fully expecting dust, but I'm not so stupid that I didn't buy a hoover, brush and dusters in the event that they might come in useful

I actually welcome the tourists. Let them come, I say. For a start, they lower the %age of positives in the tests, because their positive figures are much lower than those in the free antigen pool. Secondly, they bring much needed income to the economy. That's the economy that doesn't rely on a nice pension to keep it going.

No, I will save my ire for those too dumb to get vaccinated (as opposed to those who cannot for medical reasons).

I found that copies of the Daily Express were highly useful during the 1st lockdown in the UK when toilet paper was in short supply

Just back in the UK after being 'stupid' for 3 weeks in Cyprus. Both my wife and I are double jabbed and spent approx 3000 euros during our stay. I reckon the Cypriot economy could do with a few more 'stupid' Brits.
