Paphos Harbour Walk

Post by Dominic »

This is a request film for Tariq Mahmood. They used to work at Kings Cafe on Paphos Harbour, and they wanted to see what it looked like now. Happy to oblige!

I am going to have to practice on the talking part of the film. I thought I would just be able to remove unwanted bits of dialog by replacing it with sound from another part of a film. If I am filming a stream, for instance, this is easy to do. But the sound on the harbour included recognisable background noise, so you could hear the same fork being dropped 5 times. that sort of thing.

I also tried recording sound on my phone while driving, for the driving films, but the quality sucked.

I can add a separate soundtrack later, but that doesn't sound as good. And it all takes time. And given that the soundtrack is the least important aspect of the film, I can't spend too much time on it.

Yes, and it was about midday, so I can't say it was particularly off-peak.

I guess if I filmed on a sunday it would look a lot different. However, I would then have potential privacy problems, especially when the mask wearing is still in force.

It's in the harbour area where the absence of the usual number of tourists is most noticeable.
