Bars and restaurants closed tomorrow?

Post by Pinleyb93 »

Have just seen a Facebook post that all bars and restaurants are on strike tomorrow. Unfortunately the one we were planning on going to do not open Monday's so cannot contact them for clarification. Has anyone heard similar?

Yes, apparently the union has asked all members to close their businesses until Wednesday. They want clarification from the Government on all the rules for opening etc, so they can avoid being hit with massive fines.

Whilst I would not condone any 'strike' action, i would agree the rules do need clarifying..
I thought that if the area you were eating in was roofed over then it had to have three sides that were open to the fresh air..

And I thought that due to pressure from restaurants & tavernas, it was agreed subsequently that covered outside areas need only be open on 2 sides......

But I understand why these businesses are getting fed up with anything which isn't clear and could possibly lead to getting a fine..
