500g plain flour
Packet of yeast
2tsps salt
300g Water
3 tablespoons olive oil

That makes one loaf, so a fair few finger buns.

I'm a little cautious about some M&S products along the bread line. For example, crumpets are exported frozen, thawed in the shop, and sold as if they were fresh. I don't even know whether this is permitted, even though they stick on a "use by" label of a few days after they appear on the shelves.

As a matter of course, I found this out at the Larnaca M&S near to the bypass road; I do not know whether this applies to the other outlets, each of which seems independent of the central importer.

Yes, I do bake my own bread, when I remember to cook it at the right time. I really should get the hang of the timer on the bread making machine, then I would have fresh bread waiting for me in the mornings.

It's fun experimenting too. Walnuts make a nice addition, as does grated cheese. If I make it too nice I have to share it with the rest of the family though.

Olive oil works fine when you are actually baking bread. It all gets kneaded in together so I guess the relationship of oil and water gets pushed aside somewhat.

I think I got my bread recipe from the BBC site too. I liked that particular one because it was very simple and always produced good results.

They look yummy Lloyd.
Chelsea buns are amongst my favourite sweet treats - and that's not an extremely unsubtle hint! 😂😂
I'd show a photo of my hot cross-less Hot Cross Buns (too early for Easter goodies 🙂) but I cannot work out how to shrink it to fit! Doh, me and technology! 🙄🙄😀😀
