Just heard his speech. A strange kind of lock down, with schools, uni's open. People who can't work from home, going to work. About 10 different reasons why people can leave home. But all except essential stores closed, bars, pubs. Restaurants, closed.Take aways and home deliveries open... hope that it will work to drive the virus numbers down.

And why wait 'til next Thursday? Can see many folks cramming a month's activities into the next few days.

It needs to be put to Parliament on Monday, voted on Tuesday and implemented on Wednesday ... well, that's how I understood it.

Surely a bad move to keep Uni's open. From reports in Nottingham, the students really don't give a toss about the virus, proclaiming, "We'll only get a mild cold". They're not all closed up in Halls, many live outside the campus environs!

Very true about the students living away from the Campus and travelling in every day. There are many blocks of student accommodation in the city of Lancaster and the students travel to the uni every day
