Oh my word! How fabulous.

Reminds me of the kiddies film 'UP.' I would do it in a heartbeat. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .in my mind. 😁

Homo sapiens have always pushed the boundary in what ever they do. Who knows this may be the next big thrill but don't count me in. Tried the big dipper in Blackpool once & still have the nightmares

Another example of man's stupidity, just to get their names into the newspaper for a day, can be seen at:
Man in box of ice breaks world record

An Austrian man has broken a world record, by standing in a box filled with ice for over two-and-a-half hours.

Josef Koeberl beat the previous record for full-body contact, which he set himself last year, by over 25 minutes.
With video.

This guy who did this balloon stunt, is a world famous magicition illusionist , he has already broken many records, he is a very wealthy man, and I'm guessing he is doing it for the buzz and to push himself to the limits, I for one applaud him.

It means "You can't take it with you."

IE your wealth remains here on Earth when you die.

I don't see how it applies here though, but hopefully Firefly will expand on the subject. :)

You mentioned that he was a very wealthy man, but if he is so stupid as to put his life at risk in this way, the fact that he's wealthy means nothing, he can't take his money with him.

Who said his stupid, what you or I might think is stupid, to others is not stupid,
is what he is doing any more dangerous ( bearing in mind, he learnt how to fly a balloon, he learnt how to parachute, he has the best advisors in his team} any more dangerous then idiots doing wheelies at high speed on busy roads, without wearing a helmet?

You are grasping at straws just to have a go, my point was in regard to his wealth, you just want an argument on any subject. I am not playing your games.

Really dont know what you mean by having a go?
You were suggesting he was stupid for doing what he was doing,
and I said stupid comes in all sorts and forms,
who are we to call him stupid, some would say he is very brave, in attempting what he does,
just my view on this,no conspiracy :(

I think it was a very risk-free exercise. He was being lifted aloft, withe the best of equipment, strapped to a parachute and able to detach himself easily... so much less risky than BASE jumping or many other high-air episodes.

I agree with the above two posts. . . . . If I had balls (which I dont), and I thought it was reasonably safe to do so I would do it in a heartbeat.

Well, actually that's a lie. I may have tackled it 20 years ago. But, given the opportunity, tackled it I certainly would have. Can you just imagine the buzz?
