Sad news I'm afraid.

Just had this email from Rita's daughter:

_____________

It is with the heaviest heart that I must tell you that mum had a stroke when she was in the UK for Christmas, and that she died on Monday 21st January.

Mum wanted her funeral to be in the UK and I'm beginning to organise that now. At a later date I hope to have a memorial service in Cyprus.

_____________

Her daughter also left her email address, which I am more than happy to pass on should anybody wish to contact her.

I liked Rita's posts, and will miss her. Rest In Peace.

Oh I'm so sorry to read this. Rita was one very clever lady, and I respected and admired her, her posts were always informative and factual.

She will be greatly missed by all of us I'm sure.

My condolences to her family.

I am so saddened to read this. Only the other day I meant to post querying why we hadn't heard from Rita in a while...and was she OK. Though I never got to meet her, Rita really was one of the loveliest members of this forum. Always extremely courteous. She was incredibly generous too. I believe she paid in full for the operation on the stray dog which needed medical attention recently. And not only did she make two very generous donations to the Kids Day Out appeal, but she made it clear to me that she would fund any shortfall, if required. A truly lovely lady, who only recently lost her beloved cat to cancer. Hopefully they will be reunited now. Condolencies to family and friends.

Dear Lord, this is just the saddest news. Have known Rita through the forums for many years and she was always such an informative, helpful and sensible person. Her advice was always so precise, so useful for so many. She will be greatly missed here by so many of us.
RIP Rita and sincere condolences to her family.

A lady in every sense of the word, highly articulate, compassionate and inteligent. She will be sadly missed on this forum and elswhere.
Can details be posted of where and when the memorial service will be?

A true lady. Someone who only had kind and informative words to say.

Not a bad bone in her body. There are very few of them around and we were all lucky enough to be touched by her. 💚
